
Sion Airport, or SIR to the IATA and LSGS to the ICAO, is the airport of the city of Sion, Switzerland. It is served by seasonal flights. In 2022 there were 43,586 aircraft movements. There are two runways: 07R/25L, which is 6,562 feet (asphalt); and 07L/25R, which is 1,820 feet (grass).
SIR originated in 1935, serving as a base for the Swiss Air Force. In 1991, the airport expanded as it saw more civilian use.

* Although SIR has a history as a Swiss Air Force base, it is now only used for civilian purposes while serving as an alternate airfield for the Air Force.
* SIR is the site of the "Breitling Sion Airshow," the largest in all of Switzerland. It features Swiss, Italian, and French pilots.
