A group of English islands located close to France, the Channel Islands are a bit warmer than the UK, which allows for outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing, kayaking, diving, and more. The largest island is Jersey, which is easily explored by bike. Of note is Mont Ogueil Castle, a medieval castle that has served many purposes over the years. Some of the other islands are very quaint and perfect for exploration by bicycle. In particular, Sark is a blast from the past, as it was Europe's last remaining feudal state until 2008.
