The capital city of the Jalisco region in western Mexico, Guadalajara, is known for many things. Firstly, the region is the birthplace of Tequila (as the town of Tequila is contained therein, a must for connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike) and Mariachi music. The city is filled with colonial architecture, notably the cathedral, edged by four plazas forming a cross shape. The city is also home to many cultural events, such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival.
