The capital of Angola, Luanda, displays Portuguese influences, as they had ruled over the country for centuries. As such, Luanda is the world's third most populous Portuguese-speaking city. It features several highlights, including some that date back to Portuguese rule, such as the Saint Michael Fortress, which served as the country's administrative center. The Avenida 4 de Fevereiro is the beachside promenade and the most prestigious street in the city, where most luxury hotels are located.
