Sharm El Sheikh

Nestled between the gorgeous Sinai desert and the deep-blue Red Sea, Sharm el-Shaikh is nothing short of a sandy paradise. Known for its picturesque beaches, crystal clear waters, and illustrious coral reefs, it is the location for the perfect vacation. With numerous luxurious accommodations, a palm tree-lined promenade that is filled with cafes and restaurants, and the Ras Muhammad National Park’s perfect diving waters just south of the town, there is truly something for everyone here. Another diving attraction that attracts divers from all over the world is Thistlegrom Wreck, a ship that was packed with goods to supply British soldiers that were sunk during WWII by German bombers. Another must-see attraction is a day trip away at St. Catherine’s Monastery. Lying at the bottom of Mt. Sinai (where Moses received the Ten Commandments), the Greek Orthodox hermitage is one of the oldest working monasteries in the world and home to the Old Testament’s “burning bush,” which specifically attracts many Christian pilgrims. While there, climbing up Mt. Sinai is highly recommended, with gorgeous views at the top and along the way. Of course, all this action isn’t mandatory, and some will be just as happy lounging at Naama Bay or the new Shark’s Bay, which features some of the most exclusive five-star resorts in the area.
